Notable Nominations
Leading the list with seven nominations is “Expend4bles,” the fourth part of the action-packed but not-so-great “The Expendables” series. Tied for second place with five nominations each are “The Exorcist: Believer,” the comeback of the old horror series, and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” a unique twist on the lovable bear’s adventures. Razzies’ Past Issues and Special Recognitions
The Razzies, no stranger to issues, said sorry for past nominations causing a fuss. One notable apology was for nominating then-11-year-old actor Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the worst actress for her role in the horror remake “Firestarter.” Razzies founder, John Wilson, felt bad and talked about their commitment to saying sorry through their Redeemer Award. Starting in 1981, Razzie nominations are decided by a small group before everyone gets to vote. Surprisingly, anyone can join the voting group by paying $40 a year or $500 for life, making the awards a bit more open.
